Studio Tour

Participating Artists were selected based on the quality of their work by three local jurors to be featured on the Tour and in the Open Studios Art Tour Exhibition at DIVA.

Jessica Hickey graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Art in Ceramics and Fibers from the University of Oregon. She currently teaches ceramics at the Amazon Community Center, weaving at the UO Craft Center and is a Studio Assistant to artist and professor Josh Faught. She has also exhibited her own work locally.
Tara Kemp studied Fine Art at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has designed and marketed art jewelry in mixed metals for over 15 years, traveling often to attend wholesale and retail craft events and wholesaling her work to galleries across the country. She has been working as graphic designer and illustrator for the past ten years and is currently working on a series of colorful botanical illustrations.
Nancy Pobanz was born and raised in Ontario, Oregon, her upbringing was in a home full of art and art making.Since then (minus a few years) her studio work has been her focus, principally in Seattle, the Philippines, and since 1993, in Eugene. Most of the materials she uses are made from natural sources - pigments from Oregon desert soils, tissue-thin or thick handmade paper from tree barks, grasses, and yucca leaves, ink from oak galls and walnuts, thread from yucca fiber and paper. Her artworks, whether one-of-a-kind books, small collages, sculptures, or large textural wall pieces, include private emotive journal writing, partially obscured by paper, cloth, pigment or thread, or hidden in inaccessible cavities. Her concepts are based on secrecy and disclosure, catharsis and release.
