The goal of the contest is to showcases the work of regional artists while also supporting the fundraising efforts of the Center.
Artists are invited to submit entries in any media, based on the theme "Eastern Visions". The work is to reflect a garden aesthetic.
A committee of community artists will jury entries. Winning artwork will be auctioned as a highlight of DIVA's gARTen Party fundraising event on July 18th at the beautiful two-acre Junction City garden site of Paula and Spud Freeman.
Winning Artists Receive:
Winning artists, whose work is chosen for auction, will receive a ticket to the DIVA gARTen Party event (a $105 value that includes transportation, dinner and entertainment), plus regional press coverage, acknowledgement in DIVA's Newsletter, and winners will be featured on the Center's web site during July.
Submission Process:
Submitted artwork is to measure no more than 60 inches on any side, weigh less than 40 lbs, and be preassembled if applicable.
All artwork must be accompanied by a completed application form and be submitted by June 26, 2009. There is no entry fee.
All submitted artwork becomes the property of DIVA. Work not included in the gARTen Party auction will be displayed and sold later with all proceeds going to DIVA's fundraising efforts.
The Event:
"Under The Crescent Moon" is the theme for this year's gARTen Party. The Paula and Spud Freeman site in Junction City includes a rose garden, parterre (ornamental flower beds), cut flower garden, vegetable garden, orchard, Japanese style garden and the "west lawn". The evening includes transportation, entertainment by Mood Area 52 and dinner.
