About

The Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts (DIVA) Center is a non-profit, membership supported organization. Our Center, is the manifest vision of a number of local artists, business people and community leaders.  This highly energized collaboration of volunteers has realized incredible success with the opening of a six gallery exhibit space and 60 seat screening room on the corner of Broadway and Olive.

DIVA is the visual arts hub of downtown Eugene, Oregon.  Our mission is to be a catalyst for the visual arts in downtown Eugene. With cutting edge programming that includes exhibits, film screenings, artist services and innovative art education opportunities, we bring over 1,200 visitors through our doors each month.  We are an articulate and influential voice for the arts, bringing together artists, business leaders, and civic leaders toward creating downtown Eugene as a destination for the visual arts.

Since we opened our doors in November 2003 we have exhibited the work of over 900 artists, screened hundreds of films and offered classes from screenwriting to figure drawing. DIVA is a member-based organization that is open to artists and art lovers.

We are located on the corner of Olive and Broadway.  Our regular Tuesday-Saturday hours are from noon until 6 PM during the summer and noon until 5 PM the rest of the year. Events happen almost daily, so check our calendar for details. In Eugene, come to DIVA--Where Art Happens!

Visit the Center's social networks. DIVA's MySpace site provides an opportunity to connect with artists around the country. The OpenLens Festival and Media Arts Program MySpace sites inform time-based artists about unique opportunities for newer art forms in Eugene. Our Media YouTube site shares information about recent screenings at the Center and includes interviews with visiting film and media artists.  And, our Oregon Media Network links us with almost 2,000 Oregon film artists.
